Superficial

You might be thinking, “What the heck is up with the title, Superficial?”  HA! It all started with something I said to a colleague that got me thinking that this is a topic I need to discuss.

The word ‘Superficial’ according to the Oxford Dictionary is: Appearing to be true or real only until examined more closely.  And that’s what I am. Superficial.

It’s a weird and unusual thing to say about oneself but in my view, you have to accept your own flaws in life. As a wannabe fashion woman, the images that I post weekly is not how I dress in my everyday routine. I don’t wear heels or parade in my pretty dresses. Nor do I wear makeup or straighten my hair. My go to look on most days is what I’m wearing in these images because as much as I love being stylish for my body type, at work I need to be comfortable and I care less about my appearance with my colleagues.

My hair is messy and I dress according to my mood when I wake up – that being in a pair of leggings styled with pumps and a long tunic, covered with a jersey. If I’m feeling really fancy that particular morning, I would throw on a dress or some fancy pants. Bloggers aren’t always how they portray themselves on social media so don’t be envious by the material clothing you might think we wear, daily. Because in my ideal world, that’s not happening anytime soon.
