Ever want to see me scream and run away while three wooly animals start charting after you because it was running in all directions from a barking dog? Then attempting to feed the Alpacas at Alpaca Loom Farm out in Paarl is the way to go to get that reaction from me again.
It’s true what they say about boys and their toys because Courtney went from being a man to instantly turning into a boy the minute he laid eyes on the vintage cars at the Franschhoek Motor Museum and I was not entirely sure how to handle this.
Imagine having a partner who sends you images of what looks like either a black bag or a tiny bird with captions, “It’s an eagle!” *excited emoji*. Now one can only imagine how happy I was to find a place dedicated to eagles so that Courtney could see one up close.
We didn’t spend Valentine’s Day with chocolates or a candlelight dinner sprinkled with rose petals and a bottle of champagne. Instead we spent it with The Galileo Open Air Cinema on Allee Bleue Wine Estate out in Franschhoek. Seeing that the doors only opened at around 5pm, I thought why not make a short trip to The Huguenot Monument.
Whenever I view amazing pictures on social media platforms, I always turn the phone to Courtney and tell him, “we’re going there”. And that’s the precise thing I did when someone recently posted an image of themselves surrounded by roses and I instantly knew that’s how I wanted to spend my last day of 2016.
